Abstract
This paper describes the application of tuned power harmonic filters (PHFs) to a three phase shunt active power filter (APF) for the harmonic minimization created by a nonlinear load. This work is performed in order to show implementation of optimized harmonic power filters to a shunt active power filter can reduce total harmonic distortion (THD) without creating new system resonance. Steady state and transient performance of proposed hybrid active power filter (HAPF) were studied through computer simulation results. This results show the proposed hybrid active power filter eliminates THD less than 1 percent in two cycles.
