Abstract
The nonlinear Psi -i-characteristic is crucial for the design of switched reluctance machines (SRM). There are many different models how to calculate the Psi -i-characteristic. Some of these calculations are based on complex models of the magnetic circuit and some are based on functions needing a fitting procedure. When proceeding with curve fitting methods, measured data or data achieved by FEM-calculation is needed. In this paper a comparison is made of different calculation methods to get the advantages or the disadvantages of each method.
