Abstract :
The paper proposes that the current emphasis on business process orientation, coupled with developments in systems-theory and simulation, present the need and opportunity to apply continuous system simulation methodologies to explore, in relative safety, the implications of major change-management initiatives such as business process reengineering. Principles of modelling using highly aggregated system variables are defined and typical, generic, high-level system models are presented for discussion and evaluation
