Abstract :
This talk presents a new series of chiral bio-nanoclays by the modification of Cloisite Na+ with several different natural amino acids. Cloisite Na+ was swelled in water and ion exchange reactions were performed using hydrochloride salt of different amino acids. The resulting products were fully characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), thermogravimetric analysis (TGA), Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, scanning and transmission electron microscopy.
