Abstract
Based on the trialism of science, technology and engineering, its category and way of thinking of systems engineering is introspected. And the necessity and feasibility of establishing the results-oriented systems engineering (abbr. ROSE), which belongs to the engineering category, is put forward. The new being which ROSE creates is in the form of system, and the process is of elements-integrating and whole-emerging. Its three principles: the results-oriented principle, lean-system principle and meta-integration principle are described. Moreover, the logic process of ROSE, whose activity elements are classified to two levels of system cognition and system practice, are discussed. Finally, an empirical analysis on ROSE is presented.
