  • Abstract
This paper describes the stability properties of a predictive sliding mode controller developed by the authors. The controller is compared with a generalized predictive controller and a sliding mode controller, which are applied to a representative group of linear plants. Structured uncertainties are considered in a systematic manner. Normalized stability radius in the parametric uncertainties domain is also provided for each nominal model of study. The controllers are applied to a heat exchanger in order to show the predictive sliding mode controller robustness.
