Abstract :
A new model is presented for evaluating the performance of a degradable computer communication network with blocking, wherein network nodes are modeled with the generalized stochastic petri net (GSPN) method. The authors introduce into the GSPN a concept called the blocking arc to enable proper simulation of the blocking phenomenon. The advantages of GSPN, such as concurrency and parallelism, are exploited. Performance analyses are given for a degradable five-server blocking system which exactly match and extend previous results
