Abstract :
Presents a rectifier based upon the combination of free wheeling diode with neural and shifting control. It uses an anti-flicker control model. It is used in a DC electric arc furnace. This paper analyses the work principle and special qualities of the new rectifier. Computer simulation with fuzzy control shows that the new rectifier results in a significant decrease of the flicker effect as well as a reduction of reactive power consumption. In addition, it can run with a higher power factor compared with traditional rectifier
