Abstract :
Summary Form only given, as follows. The authors developed a step-down transformer for a pulsed power machine for liner implosion experiments. It can transform the output impedance of the machine Reiden IV from 2 Omega to 0.02 Omega , generating 1 MA/250 ns in experiments. They report liner implosion experiments with this transformer using a four-aluminum-wire array and plasma as a load. For the wire-array implosion, they observed Al L-shell emission from the pinched plasma with a power of 20 GW/40 ns. For X-ray laser experiments the data indicated that the pinched plasma stagnated on the target uniformly, and radiation from the inside of the target was observed. The inside temperature was estimated to be 20 eV.<>
