Abstract
This paper presents a complete comparison between two general control methods for 3-phase to 2-phase direct converters under balanced and unbalanced operations. The first method is based on PWM strategy and the second method is based on least mean square errors (LMSE) algorithm. In this paper, the methods are compared from many important points, for example total harmonics distortion (THD), the size of input and output filters, the range of amplitude and frequency of converter, switching frequency and etc. The validity of the aspects is confirmed by the simulation and experimental results.
