Abstract
We study the problem of determining the position of a node via the exploitation of 2-D angle of arrival estimation (azimuth and elevation), using orthogonal linear arrays. We also consider the presence of hardware impairments that include RF carrier frequency, phase, and DC offsets. We show that the algorithm is robust to the hardware impairments and it provides good performance for a wide range of distances from the receiver. Both the Cramer-Rao bound and simulation results are reported and they are compared with the root-MUSIC performance.
