Abstract :
When a high dynamic range (HDR) image is synthesized by using a set of differently exposed low dynamic range (LDR) images, it is important to design an anti-ghost scheme to prevent ghosting artifacts from the final HDR image. An anti-ghosting process is typically comprised of detection and correction of moving regions. In this paper, we propose a new method to estimate intensity mapping functions (IMFs) between two differently exposed LDR images. The accuracy of IMFs is improved for under/over-exposed pixels. The new IMFs are then adopted to design a fast correction approach. Experimental results show that the quality of final image can be maintained while the time taken to correct the moving regions reduced.
