Abstract :
This paper carries out an adaptive phase-shifting controller based on the online prony identification for the thyristor controlled series compensation (TCSC) in interconnected grid. Because the frequency deviation of power swings, the controller with fixed parameters isn´t robust. So the prony algorithm is present to identify the frequency of inter-area oscillation, then the parameters of controller are meliorated according it. A gain regulator is designed to choose large gain to utilize TCSC completely when fault occurs and choose small gain based on the online information after the oscillation is abated. The TCSC with presented controller is compared with the fixed series compensation (FSC) and the comparison results show that the former is better than the latter. It is also shown; the presented controller can effectively suppress the low frequency oscillation in interconnected power grids, and has good adaptability and high robustness.
