  • Abstract
    In order to solve the calculation of the micro-segment gear´s contact stress, Ansys (one FEM software) is used here. First the model of the gear is set up in Catia(one 3D modeling software), then the model is imported to Ansys from Catia, and the result of contact stress is got in Ansys. The contrasting analysis of in volute gear and micro-segment gear with the same parameters are shown in the paper. The results show that the micro-segment gear´s contact stress can be solved in Ansys and micro-segments in volute gear has lower contact stress. Thus the micro-segment gear is better than the in volute gear.
