Abstract
Sensor nodes in Wireless Sensor Networks are vulnerable to failure, which may cause badly damage to the connectivity. Taking into account the impact of link length on communication, a novel Two-tiered Length-constrained Relay Node Placement (T-TLCRP) method is proposed, which is based on the heuristic algorithm and two-tiered structure. T-TLCPR utilizes some relay sensor nodes to restore the connectivity, and primary includes the establishing of feasible solution and the design of optimization strategy. Under the constraints of link length, this paper aims at minimizing the number of relay nodes. The simulation results show that the algorithm is able to repair the connectivity effectively, and will achieve a good restriction of link length.
