Abstract :
In this paper we present an automatic strain analyzer system for sheet metal stamped parts. The system is mainly based on measuring the deformation of grid patterns printed on a metal surface. The co-ordinates of the vertexes can be obtained either by using optical digitizers (our proposal) or by means of measuring machines. This new device can be a very useful tool in the manufacturing industry, where measurements performed with high speed and accuracy are required.
