About the cover from the Publication Co-Chairs

We have chosen panoramic view of the Taj Mahal Palace Hotel and Gateway of India, as a cover photo for VLSID 2014 proceedings, which is a landmark and symbol of Mumbai. The Taj hotel was founded in 1903 by J.N. Tata - a pioneering industrialist, philanthropist, and patron of many research institutes in India. The hotel has hosted dignitaries from around the world. More recently, the hotel was the site of the infamous terror attacks of 2008 in Mumbai. A year later, it hosted the US President and first lady, and to quote President Barack Obama, "... the Taj has been the symbol of the strength and the resilience of the Indian people." In the proceedings of this conference, you will find a number of methods that discuss resilient VLSI systems; but before that, let us pause and reflect on the resilience of the Indian people.
