Abstract :
With the capability of reducing the radio transmission distance, the microcellular system and distributed antenna system (DAS) became two promising systems to provide high data rate for future wireless communications. In this paper, in order to achieve high spectrum efficiency, spectrum reuse is exploited in both of the microcellular system and the DAS. The performances between the two systems are theoretically compared in a network topology with seven macrocells. Numerical results show that, when spectrum reuse is adopted, the spectrum efficiency in the DAS is larger than these in the microcellular system.
