Abstract
We developed a noble instrument for the edge angle measurement utilizing light-sectioning method. This instrument utilizes two parallel sheeted light beams for illumination and acquires two shifted edge profiles as an image data. The object edge is placed under those beams in a slanted position to have a clear view from the perpendicular direction of the light sheets. This slant angle is a direct factor for the measurement. The knives have a variated shapes and their edge lines are not always straight, and so, it is difficult to set the object knives to a fixed slant angle. Both the slant angle and edge angle are measured using an auto-correlation and a cross-correlation technique on the images. The detail of image analysis technique is presented in this paper
