Abstract :
This paper presents an approach to estimate jacket launching angle using a computer vision approach. The launching angle is between the bottom surface of the jacket and sea surface. It is a very important parameter for the launching. First, the approach computes the homography and the vanishing line of the jacket base plane by the imaged feature lines in the jacket base plane. Then, the launching angle is computed from the vanishing line and the horizon. The major measurement errors are analyzed by simulated experiments. Real image experiments and real application validate this algorithm.
