Abstract
In high-speed mobile OFDM communication systems, receiving characteristics degrade significantly due to time variation of the channel properties. One solution is to rotate a circular array antenna so as to decrease the speed of receiving antenna relative to the ground. When the vehicle speed changes, the rotating antenna needs to keep the optimum rotation speed. To solve this problem, we proposed a control method of the rotating antenna. This method employs two rotation antennas whose rotation speeds are slightly different. The steepest descent method based on the MSE of the demodulation output before and after of the vehicle speed changes is adopted to update the rotation speed. Our goal is to propose an easily implementable system using a single rotating antenna. In this paper, we propose a new control method on the rotation speed with a single rotating antenna by applying the margin of MSE between two successive symbols. Simulation results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.
