User equipment for converged IPTV and telecommunication services in next generation networks

This paper presents the work of Fraunhofer Institute FOKUS in the direction of IPTV services provided over next generation networks with a special focus on the client implementations with rich user interfaces. The so called IPTV user equipment represents the end point in such networks and makes use of plain IMS telecommunication features on the one hand as well as offering streaming services as live TV and video on demand controlled by the IMS infrastructure.
