Abstract :
Based on high speed digital signal processor (DSP), a UV-visible dual-spectrum image capture, processing and display system was developed. As an innovative light path with the spectrum transformation and image enhancement technologies were adopted, the system could detect real-time images of various UV emitting phenomena. The image processing part, where TMS320DM642 served as the center processor, realized functions of image decode and code, processing and export. Algorithms of image fusion were designed to locate the ultraviolet signals. Compared with traditional image processing based on computer, the adoption of DSP not only greatly improved image processing speed, but also made this system miniature and portable. This system based on embedded structure could be applied broadly in the detection of weak signals of fires, plumes and electrical corona and so on.
