  • Abstract
    To get better effect in the edge detection, an improved edge detection algorithm based on image fuzzy enhancement is presented through analyzing the defects of Pal algorithm. The algorithm not only simplifies the complex transformation calculation of fuzzy space by using the enhancement algorithm based on grayscale fuzzy sets, but also adopts the improved method of maximum variance between clusters to determine the threshold value of the enhancement function, which overcomes the deficiency of choosing fuzzy enhancement threshold value in Pal algorithm at random. In addition, image-smoothing processing of the fuzzy sets has been done before fuzzy enhancement processing. The result shows the method reasonable and effective.
