Abstract :
A novel method is proposed for reducing the feedback rate of a transmit beamforming system with feedback of quantized channel state information. Specifically, the channel is modeled as a Markov chain and the feedback bits are compressed by truncating the Markov chain transition probabilities. Using the proposed method, the feedback rate can be compressed by more than 100% without degrading the system performance.
