Abstract
An approximate Hammerstein model of a nonlinear system expanded as an infinite Laguerre series and an adaptive predictive control algorithm based on it are presented. With the character of non-structure and good approximation of time delay, the model has the ability to approximate to the unknown system. It is shown by simulations that the algorithm makes the control system to be robust for the variation of time delay, system-order and nonlinear character
