Abstract
In this paper nonuniform sampling has been used to develop an efficient and adaptive recorder for wide band signals. Previously established theoretical results have been successfully utilized to produce a practically implementable sampling system. Two important application areas e.g. power system fault. Recording and double exponential waveform recording, have been considered with a considerable amount of improvement over presently used uniform sampling systems. The algorithms have been implemented in C and ASSEMBLY level programming. A PC-based system has been developed with a 1:15 sampling rate variation which will be useful for power system fault recorder
