  • Abstract
    Side-magnetism brake single-phase induction motor (SBSIM) has founded made application in electric tools where power-off brake is needed. The axial magnetic brake force is analyzed theoretically and calculated in this paper, which is verified by the three-dimensional finite element method (3-D FEM), firstly. Then the flux density distributions in different air gap positions at rated load and no load respectively are analyzed and the parameters used in the theoretical expressions of brake force are given.
