  • Abstract
The Givens planar rotator is a basic component of a structurally passive digital filter. The realization of this element by a residue number system is discussed, with particular attention given to the elimination of multiplications by applying the isomorphism between the modular multiplication and addition. The authors also propose a possible scheme for extending the dynamic range of the rotator, based on the Chinese remainder theorem.<>
