Abstract :
We considered that the flying distance and curve of a golf ball are determined by the initial conditions of a golf ball (five parameters, that is, initial velocity, the elevation of delivery, the angle of left-right deviation, backspin and sidespin) immediately after being hit. The instrument for measuring these parameters simultaneously has been developed, and is characterized by carrying out the measurement of the spin with laser Doppler velocimeters. In this instrument, attention was paid to the fact that the surface velocity of a flying ball is determined by summing the flying velocity and the spin, and to measure the surface velocity of a ball immediately after being hit was aimed at. By using this instrument, the relation of these five parameters with carry was measured
