            Abstract :
Web-based applications pose new and unique software testing challenges as the World Wide Web suddenly surges in global e-Commerce. The Web-based test process becomes more challenging than non-Web applications testing. It is no longer sufficient to obtain accurate analysis and measurements of the Internet computing systems with manual testing alone. IT professionals have repeatedly and convincingly produced the case for the automated software testing (AST) process. The most critical challenge to enterprises is the ability to build a friendly, cost-effective and maintainable AST system. The paper contributes a new concept of efficient testing methodologies to support the rapid deployment of new Web-based applications and technologies. A URL-Driven Navigation Testing (URL-DNT) case is used as an example to introduce the URL-Driven Automated Testing (URL-DAT) methodology
