Abstract :
The Metal Package PMT R5600U series, a size of 15 mm diameter and 10 mm height, has been developed. Its appearance is the same as TO-8 type solid state device and it has as high sensitivity and speed as a conventional PMT. There are two important key components for the development of this tube. They are the metal envelope same as the package of TO-8 and 8 stage-Metal Channel Dynode for electron multiplier. These two features, supported by computer simulation of electron trajectory and fine etching technique, realized new compact design
