Abstract :
This paper proposes a high resolution optical spectrum analyzer based on heterodyne detection. By changing the oscillator frequency, the intermediate frequency can be changed to distinguish the real images from the mirror images. The proposed analyzer is useful to observe the chirped signal spectra of an optical transmitter and the spectrum broadening of a signal transmitted through 50 km of fiber
