Abstract :
As the main portion of urban catchment, road is also a major non-point pollution source of receiving water body. The road runoff pollution has attracted wide attention. The paper makes a study on six rainfall road runoff from 3 different types of roads, analyses the status of road runoff pollution, the surface runoff pollution load and correlation between road runoff pollutants. The result shows that the concentrations of COD, TN, TP and Pb all exceed the fifth standard of The Environmental Quality Standards for Surface Water. The annual pollution load of Xiangtan urban-road runoff is LCOD=2777.612, LTN=121.971t, LTP=15.088t, LPb=7.386t, LZn=0.764t. The correlation coefficients between COD, TN, TP, Pb, Zb concentration and SS content are all larger than 0. 85 (R2>;0.85). The pollution of urban-road surface runoff can be reduced by increasing the frequency of road sweeping.
