Abstract :
On the basis of analysis of characteristic curve and operation theory of the PV array, a method of MPPT named CVT (constant voltage tracking) is produced. A model based on above idea is established and simulated under the environment of saber software and a lower power photovoltaic (PV) system with simple structure is designed in this paper. During the course of experiments, a DC power supply with a series variable resistor at its output is used to simulate PV array. This method is verified with the PV charging system. The results show that the maximum power point (MPP) of PV array can be tracked well by applying the charger controller. Simultaneously, the system is verified to be such virtues as simple configuration, high efficiency etc.
