Abstract :
A unified approach based on delta operator is presented to control the two-time scale, discrete-time or continuous-time systems. It is shown that such systems can be decomposed into a fast subsystem with large eigenvalues and a slow subsystem with small eigenvalues. Separate eigenvalues assignment is attained using independent feedback gains. Application of the technique is demonstrated via the problem of independently controlling the speed and torque of petrol engine dynamometer test rig
