Abstract
To analyze the heat transfer in soils accurately, it is better to know the temperature profiles of soil in natural conditions. Based on the fundamentals of heat transfer, a 2-D mathematical model is presented. The third kind boundary condition between the soil surface and atmosphere, including convection and radiation, are considered synthetically. The simulation results are compared with the measured data, good agreement is showed in most cases. The results showed that the solar radiation effect the heat transfer in soil a lot. The model may be further used as the initial and boundary conditions when solving problems which related to heat and moisture transfer problems in soils.
