Abstract :
Slag cleaning is important from both an economical and environmental perspective. The abundance of iron in the copper slag is well worth to reclaim. Recovering iron of copper slag was undertaken by melting reduction in this paper, the effects of C/Fe, the basicity and the holding time at 1773K were considered in this study. XRD analysis results indicated that the copper residue was mainly composed of 2FeO·SiO2 and other glassy silicates. DTG-DSC analysis results indicated that the reaction starting temperature was decreased from 1000K to 653K as the basicity raised from 0.187 to 1.2.In N2 atmosphere, the iron reduction rate was up to 92.44% under the condition of C/Fe=1.33,R=1.2,the holding time t=40min at T=1773K.
