Abstract :
Iron and steel industry is energy and resource intensive industry, also is typical process industry, which can produce amount of residual heat and waste energy when producing iron and steel product coinciding with consuming lots of power and steam. In this paper, feasibility study of utilization secondary energy to improve energy utilization efficiency in iron and steel industry is discussed. Energy balance and byproduct gases recovery are analyzed by mathematical expresses, and current status and potential of utilization byproduct gases for combined heat and power are described. Research results indicated that it is more and more important that using the secondary energy resource such as byproduct gases, steam in the iron and steel industry for improving energy utilization efficiency to energy saving and environment protection.
