Abstract :
This paper proposes a new series resonant DC link AC/AC PWM converter. The DC inductance of the proposed circuit can be smaller than that of the conventional series resonant converter. All switching devices use soft switching technique, and the switching losses are decreasing. The resonant circuit to cut main pulses off is isolated from the main circuit, and the voltage of switching devices in the resonant circuit can be smaller. The proposed circuit can be also applied as soft-switched AC/AC or AC/DC converter. This paper describes design, operation principle and output characteristics of the proposed circuit.
