Abstract :
A new control method for active power filters with voltage detection is proposed. The proposed control method is based on the real-time simulation of an LC filter accomplished by a digital signal processor. Thus the proposed active power filter acts equivalently as an LC filter whose circuit parameters, such as the resonant frequency and quality factor, can be adjusted during the operating condition. The adjustment of these circuit parameters realizes the control function of the compensation capability for the individual harmonic components. Thus the adaptive operation of the active power filter according to the condition of the distribution systems can be achieved. To confirm the effectiveness of the proposed control strategy, some experimental results employing a laboratory test system are demonstrated.
