Abstract :
This paper describes the consideration of an optimum ecology driving technique to be used for electric vehicles. Modern control theory is considered to obtain the optimal running pattern. A simple mathematical model of the electrical vehicle was derived based on ideal conditions in which outside disturbances are not considered. The optimal running pattern was revealed in results from a simulation in which the velocity was increased rapidly, and decreased slowly to achieve the minimum energy running. A small fuel cell electrical vehicle with a 100 W fuel cell and two hydrogen tanks of 60 NL was fabricated as a test machine to confirm the simulation results. The fabricated vehicle was able to run a total length of 29 km in two hours.
