  • Abstract
    First, space vector pulse width modulation principle is analyzed and its natural overmodulation characteristic is derived. Based on this characteristic, this paper proposes a novel overmodulation strategy according to SVPWM implementation on DSP. This strategy reduces calculation effort and provides high control performance. It fits for all overmodulation area and unites overmodulation calculation formulas with linear-modulation ones. In addition, it can keep proportionality between reference voltage and output fundamental phase voltage, provide maximum DC voltage utilization and maintain low output voltage total harmonic distortion. Simulation and experiment results verify its validity.
