Abstract :
Traditional weld fatigue evaluation methods were analyzed. Pointed two hard questions existed in traditional methods can be successfully solved by master S-N method. A multidisciplinary optimization model was built in this paper based on the master S-N curve method. Not only structural variables but also fatigue life parameters were considered as constrains in this model. A fatigue life evaluation code was programmed and quadratic programming method was adopted to solve the optimization model. The example in this paper illuminated the validation of the model.
