Abstract
This paper contains the results of an environmental heat study conducted in Kanazawa City, Japan. For this study, we developed the Kanazawa Environmental Temperature Observation System and have observed the ground air temperature every summer since 2003. Our results indicate that, in the observation area, there is a difference between the distribution of the regions in which the daytime air temperature is high and that of those in which the nighttime air temperature is high. This knowledge can be utilized for improving the heat environment in Kanazawa City and would also be effective in energy-saving education.
