Abstract
In this paper, we present an efficient pilot pattern for estimating channel frequency responses (CFRs) of multiple antenna systems maintaining backward compatibility with DVBT2 system. First, it is found that the pilot pattern of input singleoutput (MISO) transmission mode of DVB-T2 (MISO DVB-T2) system can be analyzed by using a 2×2 matrix of Hadarmard code. From this analysis, we show that a new pilot pattern for multiple antenna systems could be designed for providing backward compatibility. Second, we present an efficient scheme of time and frequency interpolations used for estimating the CFR by carrying out multi-stage operations of sum and difference. In addition, it is shown that the interpolation scheme in use of our system can be applied for one in use of the MISO DVB-T2 system.
