Abstract
The passive long baseline positioning system costs large computation to initial the target position. To minish the computation, a new system called virtual short baseline system is presented to estimate the target position without increasing any instruments. The virtual short baseline system is composed by the hydrophone itself and the virtual source of this hydrophone´s sea surface reflection. The combination of the virtual short baseline together with the long baseline system to estimate the target position also improve the three dimension positioning accuracy. At last, the simulation results are given.
