Abstract :
Network planning technology is important to project management. But in practice, the technology is often hardly to be used directly to solve correlative problems successfully and need to be improved. For optimization problem, it could be simplified by transforming programming model to dual model generally. In addition, for many problems which correlate to network planning, duration and path length etc are not directly correlative to solving process, but essential elements are float and path difference which are correlative to solving process closely and need to be key objects. And furthermore, properties of network planning are mainly represented by float and path float. Therefore, base on advantage and theory of dual, and by studying on relation between float and path float, firstly, path float theorem is deduced, secondly, dual network model is founded based on the theorem, and finally, properties of dual network model are analyzed, specially relation between network planning model and dual network model is revealed. The dual network model cleans interference of non-essential elements such as duration and path length availably, and emphasizes float and path float.
