  • Abstract
    We proposed a Channel Drop Filter (CDF) based on two dimensional (2D) Photonic Crystal Ring Resonator (PCRR). The normalized transmission spectra of dual PCRR configurations have been investigated by using the Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method in a Square lattice Si rod photonic crystal structure. We investigate the forward and backward dropping efficiency of the CDF by varying coupling period between the PCRR. The photonic bandgap (PBG) has been calculated by Plane Wave Expansion (PWE) method.
