  • Abstract
This paper intends to develop a unified two-phase modeling technique to describe the axial-flux brushless motor used in electric vehicle. Similarity transformation and singular value decomposition methods (ST methods) will be used to linearize the system model. Stationary and cosecant coordinate models will be derived based on the proposed approach. Decoupled relation and constant torque property will be obtained for the proposed models. It will be very easy to describe their respective system dynamics. Simulation and experimental results will be illustrated to prove the validity of the proposed model. It is believed that the proposed system modeling technique can provide a more generalized mathematical viewpoint for the associated vector control basis.
